There are 12 crimes to choose from in “Salt and Sacrifice”: Alchemy, Arson, Blasphemy, Brigandry, Drunkenness, Forgery, Heresy, Voluptuousness, Smoggling, Opulence, Usury, and Vagrant. Each of them grants an item bonus, some of which provide some sort of effect that can be used during the game. At first glance, Brigandry may seem like the best option. The Cutthroat’s Dager that comes with it is a equipable item that increases the character’s maximum stamina. This is clearly a useful bonus, especially for Assassins and other skill-oriented classes. It can be especially useful in the early game before players have had a chance to improve their character. Unfortunately, the decision is a little more complicated than just choosing the best effect.
The forged deed, the Krine tablet, the lock of hair, the signal lantern and the wooden doll do not give a special bonus effect, but they are listed as Main items, meaning they are needed to unlock certain areas or else are needed to progress in certain missions. Players can get these through the crimes of forgery, heresy, lust, smuggling, and vagabondage. It is still unknown which areas and quests are associated with these key items, but the rewards for completing them may become more valuable in the long run.
