intimacy (or harassment as it is known in many other regions, which literally translates to Privacy) is Netflix’s latest major mystery thriller series, hailing from Spain and starring in Money Heist. The show has been making waves since its June 2022 release date, so are we going to be back for more? Here’s what we know so far about season 2 of Intimacy.
Txintxua Films’ Spanish-language show, due out on June 10, is a political mystery thriller.
Itziar Ituño is the main draw for the series and is perhaps best known for playing Raquel Murillo (Lisbon) in the Spanish series Money Heist. As we’ve seen Netflix do with shows like money robbery even Weird stuff is by giving the biggest stars their own spin-off on the assumption that people will jump over to watch programs with familiar faces.
If you’ve yet to watch the series on Netflix, here’s what to expect:
“A rising politician’s career is threatened when a secretly recorded video of her sex life is leaked to the public.”
Has Netflix been renewed intimacy for a season 2?
Official Renewal Status: Pending
Our renewal forecast: Unlikely to return
No decision on the future of intimacy has been announced from the end of June 2022.
According to Spoiler from Bolavipthey state that Netflix will make a decision after 28 days (although there is plenty of evidence that Netflix makes decisions much earlier and later), but given the way things are merging, they add, a second season might be an unrealistic one. expectation.
The biggest reason for not coming back is that the series more or less wraps up the main storyline. But as Bolavip summarizes (translated from Spanish):
“One of the last scenes hints that Malen isn’t happy with the resolution of his case, so Netflix could take that point in the story for a second season with more personal plots from different women.”
ElcoMercio also poured cold water on the possibility of a second season saying:
“While neither the protagonists nor the producers have said anything about a possible second round of episodes,”
Notably, it hasn’t been labeled a “miniseries” or a “limited series” in promotional materials or on Netflix’s UI, so maybe there’s still hope.
How good is? intimacy performing on Netflix?
Using various sources, we can see how well Intimacy is doing (which, as mentioned above, will be a key indicator of whether the show gets a renewal) and is one of the best ways from Netflix itself through its top 10 viewing figures per hour†
In the first two weeks on the platform, intimacy logged 46.11 million hours of viewers (we’re tracking the show’s top 10 hourly data here).
Notably, in its second week, the show saw a 90% increase in viewing hours, making it the No. 1 non-English language show between June 12 and June 19.
Here’s how that viewership breaks down:
|Week period||Number of hours viewed (M)||rank||Week in Top 10|
|June 5, 2022 to June 12, 2022||15,900,000||4||1|
|June 12, 2022 to June 19, 2022||30,210,000 (+90%)||1||2|
We can also use the raw top 10 data to see how well the show is doing.
Thanks to FlixPatrolwe can get a good indication in which regions the show is doing well and how it performs in the top 10 compared to other countries.
As you can see from the heat map below, you can see where the show performs best around the world and it’s no surprise that mainly Spanish-speaking countries garnered the most points for the show. Spain and Portugal see the show flourish, of course, but so do places like Argentina.
As we’ve seen on many European shows, they generally perform well all over Europe, but while the show appears in mostly English-speaking countries, it’s far surpassed by the likes of Europe and South America.
Their data also suggests that the show peaked in popularity five days after its release and has declined dramatically since then. Is it because the interest is waning? Most people gave up on the show early on or did everyone finish at once? We don’t know the answer, but it’s worth mentioning because shows are often refreshed when they have longer legs.
