EA Motive Studios long-awaited remake of the horror classic Empty space will be launched on PS5 On January 27, 2023, announced the developer during its livestream today.
During the latest livestream hosted by Motive, focusing on certain aspects of the remake, which focused on art today, Motive also surprised fans with a release date.
According to the developers, they were able to complete their first full walkthrough of the game about two weeks ago. A major milestone in the development process of any game and a sign that a project is nearing its end.
Motive also said that today’s stream will be the last time we see the game for a while, with the intention of showing off a good gameplay reveal sometime in October.
For now, though, the studio will be “head down” as it described today, working on further polishing the game and making sure it’s everything the team wants it to be.
“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive because we are true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves.” said Phillipe Duchame, senior producer of the remake in a press release to PSU.
“It was equally exciting to see players’ reactions as we take them on this development journey with us. We are making great progress towards Alpha and are pleased to announce that the game will launch in January next year.”
“We can’t wait for players, both old and new, to see how we elevated the original experience in the remake to be just as impactful for this generation.”
