Clayne Crawford on Bringing the Integrity of Joseph Chambers to His Birthplace – Exclusive

After more than two decades working in Hollywood, actor Clayne Crawford is ready to do things his way. With his latest movie “The Integrity of Joseph ChambersCrawford had the unique opportunity to shoot the entire film in his hometown of Alabama. When he reunited with director Robert Machoian, with whom the actor previously collaborated on “The Killing of Two Lovers,” Crawford produced “The Integrity of Joseph.” Chambers” through his production company, Back 40 Pictures.

The film focuses on a man who tries to defend his family and finds himself totally ill-equipped. “The Integrity of Joseph Chambers” stars Jordana Brewster and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who both traveled to Crawford’s hometown for filming. “I’m grateful that they both said yes and came out during a dadgum pandemic in central Alabama,” he tells The List. “…I had Jeff in Birmingham for 24 hours. I flew him in, I shot him and then we flew his butt home.”

While promoting the premiere of “The Integrity of Joseph Chambers” at the Tribeca Film Festival, Clayne Crawford revealed to The List what it was like to bring Hollywood to his small town.

For Clayne Crawford, it made a lot of sense to film “The Integrity of Joseph Chambers” in his hometown. “I bought a farm in my small town in 2010, and when COVID hit, we moved back and have stayed there ever since,” he tells The List. † [T]o bring a movie there to my town, everyone was super excited. They’ve wanted me to do something like this for a while, just because they’re all so awesome and supportive.”

Crawford’s neighbors quickly showed their support for the venture by assisting in the production of the film. “I’ve said this before – it was all hands on deck,” he explains. “Everyone who could help was there to help and helped, and I really appreciate that.”

What makes his hometown so special, says Crawford: “We are in a small town in Alabama. There are bad people everywhere, but my experience is the salt of the earth and everyone is there to help the community and each other. That is the true definition of community, isn’t it?”
